UBC Research at Columbus Residence

Columbus Residence is participating in UBC research.

Nicole Molinari is a graduate student at the University of British Columbia doing research on how changes to the long-term residential care sector in B.C. affect work, life and care in care facilities. Her research aims to identify improvements to long-term residental care based on the needs and desires of those working and living there. Nicole will be spending the next year at Columbus Residence conducting her research.

Building Evacuation Drill: Sept 21st.

Mock Evacuation

Nurses will assess our "acting residents" for
"mock injuries" once they have been safely
evacuated from the building.

Columbus Residence staff will be participating in a "mock" partial building evacuation on Wednesday September 21st at 2:00 p.m.

No residents will be involved in this emergency drill. Volunteers will be filling the role of residents. Alternate arrangements will be made for residents who live in the 10 rooms that will be affected during the drill.

Mock Evacuation

Staff evacuate one of our "volunteer residents"
from the building during our last evacuation drill.

Part of this drill will be conducted outside, therefore we have applied for a special events permit with the city. As a result of this there will be no parking on West 69th Avenue between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. on evacuation day.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while staff participate in this very important drill. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dale Clements at Ext 106.
