Columbus Residence will be hosting a performance of Tim Firth's comedy play, "Calendar Girls" at the Metro Theatre in Vancouver.

This evening event will feature a wine and cheese reception, silent auction and the evening's performance of the play.

Tickets are $60 each. Tickets may be purchased from the Front Office at Columbus Residence or may be purchased by phone: 604.321.4405 Ext 103 (Cash, cheque, Visa or Mastercard accepted). Tickets may also be purchased online (click on link below).

All tickets must be purchased in advance (by October 23rd). There will be no ticket sales at the Metro Theatre on performance night.

Your support through ticket purchases for this event will support the continuation of our Pastoral Care, Music Therapy and Physio/OT programs.

Silent Auction - Donations Needed!

We will be holding a silent auction at our Night at the Theatre fundraiser on November 1st.

Donations Needed!

We are seeking donations of auction items that have sufficient value to raise at least $200 at auction. Examples include: theatre or sporting event tickets, spa or massage gift certificates, fine dining gift certificates and gift certificates for travel, hotel, adventure experiences, etc.

Columbus Residence will acknowledge your donation by including your name in the evening's event program as well as displaying it with the auction item and an acknowledgement on our website after the event.

Birthday & Halloween Party!

"Happy Birthday & Trick or Treat!" It's party time again as we celebrate our October birthdays at a combined Birthday & Halloween Party on Thursday October 26th. Family and friends are welcome to join us in the Dining Room at 2:45 p.m. for some treats, music and spooky fun!

Volunteers Needed to Help Put Up Christmas Lights November 18th

We need volunteers to help us install the many strings of lights for our annual Christmas lights display. Our scheduled "decorating day" is Saturday November 18th from 9am to 3pm.

Volunteers should be prepared for rain or shine! Lunch will be provided.

If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up at our Front Office or call us during regular office hours (Ext 100).

Light Up for Christ

Light Up for Christ: December 5th


Our annual Light Up for Christ celebration will be held on Tuesday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m.

On this evening of Scripture, prayer, and hymns we light the candles of our Advent Wreath and illuminate our courtyard. A reception will follow the service.

UBC Research at Columbus Residence

Nicole Molinari is a graduate student at the University of British Columbia doing research on how changes to the long-term residential care sector in B.C. affect work, life and care in care facilities. Her research aims to identify improvements to long-term residental care based on the needs and desires of those working and living there. Nicole will be spending the next year at Columbus Residence conducting her research.

Happy Halloween!

Our Anniversary!

27th Anniversary Celebration October 25th

Residents, staff, family, volunteers and friends are welcome to join us on Wednesday October 25th as we give thanks for 27 years of serving seniors, and recognize staff for their years of service.

The celebration begins at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Lounge with an anniversary prayer service followed by staff service recognition. The service will be followed by a special tea in the Dining Room.

Family Council News

The next Family Council meeting is scheduled for October 23rd at 4:00 p.m.
